Water Damaged Home

Description

My landlord has cerebral palsy and had a broken pipe in his bathroom. Even though he is unable to walk, he used a vacuum to constantly soak up water until the plumbers could fix the problem 10 days later. The damage has stretched into the living room and he has been forced to sleep on this disgusting carpet and breathe in the possibly unsafe aroma of the damage. With no one able to purchase new carpet anytime soon, I fear for his safety. This is the Master Bedroom. The damage is much darker than what it appears in the photo due to the sunlight.

    • It's unfortunate this happened and that he has to live like that, would replacing the carpet be all that needs to be done with there being sufficient water damage? I would also look into programs like Habitat for Humanity or something to see if they can see if the water damage did more damage with the possibility of mold and mildew growing; this can't be healthy.
